Definition of flog: To criticize harshly or to force or urge into action.

Definition of vflog: A virtual or video flogging.

A vflog is a political vlog (video-log) of a citizen verbally flogging a dishonest politician or public figure for the purpose of holding them accountable for their actions or positions on various subjects.

A vflog is the video version of a political blog.

This new wave in democracy has been described as a cross-between guerrilla theater and gonzo journalism. Our moto is "Bringing the 1st Amendment into the 21st Century".

Vflogging started in Colorado in 2007, when a group of activists decided to use the Internet's emerging video technology to show people how easy and fun it is to participate in democracy.

Vflog.com will be posting vflogs leading up to the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado Aug. 25-28, 2008.

Profile: Kathleen Chippi

Kathleen Chippi is our main video-flogger. She has been an activist since she was born.

She started the Boulder Hemp Company in 1993, becoming the first person since cannabis prohibition to package and market hemp food products in the U.S. Her company was forced out of business by the DEA in 1999, when they erroneously declared hemp products illegal. That decision has since been overturned, but the DEA effectively killed the hemp industry in the U.S. The Canadian hemp industry remains legal and flourishing.
